Cosmetic
Botox
Botox is a trade name for botulinum toxin, which comes in the form of a purified protein. Botox injections can be used to decrease the unsightly frown lines between the eyes and to smooth facial wrinkles. Botox has useful clinical uses as an adjunct in TMJ and bruxism cases, even more so for patients with moderate chronic temporomandibular joint and facial pain. It is also often used in conjunction with dermal filler therapy as a non-surgical alternative to high lip line cases. Read more at the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Dermal Filler
A dermal filler injection is a material injected underneath the skin in the nasolabial fold, marionette lines, and oral commissures, which plump up these areas and smooth out the wrinkles. Lip augmentation is also done with dermal fillers. Read more at the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Botox treatment for bruxism and TMJ symptoms
TMJ syndrome is a condition that occurs when the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) that connects the upper and lower jaw is misaligned or stressed. This can cause pain in the jaw, the face, and in extreme cases, can also cause neck pain and shoulder pain. Botox can be used as a chronic pain treatment to alleviate TMJ headaches and all other pain and discomfort associated with TMJ. Read more at the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.

Veneers
Veneers are a thin porcelain covering that is cemented to the front side of your tooth. Veneers can mask discolored teeth and may also be able to give the illusion that teeth are straighter. Our office uses a local laboratory. This gives us the ability to have a laboratory representative be in the office to custom color your tooth to match the surrounding teeth.
Preventative
Dental Exam
Exams are performed to avoid potential problems early so they can be treated easier and less costly. We examine teeth, gums, and soft tissue for cavities, periodontal disease, and cancerous lesions.
Dental Prophylaxis (cleanings)
Our highly trained hygienists strive to make you comfortable during your dental cleaning. We believe that prevention through home care and regularly scheduled cleaning appointments is vital to a healthy smile.
For the majority of our patients, once restored to optimal dental health, regular maintenance visits provide a healthy and long lasting smile.
Scaling and Root Planing
Scaling and Root Planing is a procedure that is indicated for periodontally involved teeth (teeth with bone loss). Root planing involves cleaning under your anesthetized gums to try to arrest the bone loss.
Sealants and Fluoride
Sealants are protective coatings to make teeth less susceptible to decay (especially useful for children and people with a high decay rate).
Flouride helps make your teeth stronger and more resistant to decay (cavitites). Topical flouride at the dental office is recommended for children and for people with a high decay rate.
Diagnosing Cavities
DIAGNOdent laser technology is offered as an adjunct to cavity detection. The DIAGNOdent laser helps identify cavities at an early stage so that the treatment will be less invasive than if discovered later. Find out more at Kavousa.com
Cancer Screenings
We offer ViziLite Plus technology to assist our doctors in the early detection of oral abnormalities. The ViziLite Plus screening involves rinsing with a solution for 30-60 seconds. The doctor then will examine your mouth with a light to see if any abnormalities appear. When oral cancer is found at the earliest stage, treatment is quicker, simpler, and less invasive, and more than 90% successful. For more information please go to: www.vizilite.com.
Restorative
Implants
Our office offers dental mini implants to replace the function and esthetics of a single missing tooth. Mini implants can also be used to help support dentures, making them more retentive. We also restore surgically placed implants for patient's optimal needs.
Crowns and Bridges
Our crowns and bridges are fabricated at a local laboratory, giving us the ability to work closely with the laboratory to ensure your tooth/teeth is/are restored back to optimimal shape, size, and color.
Restorations (Fillings)
With either amalgam (silver) or white (composite) fillings we are able to restore your tooth back to proper function.
Orthodontics
Crowded teeth can be aligned at our office through a multitude of treatments. If crowding is noticed at an early age, growth management with retainers (removeable or fixed) can permit either jaw to grow allowing for more space for the adult teeth to erupt, thus minimizing crowding. At our office we treat with conventional braces as well as Clear Correct. Clear Correct straightens teeth through a series of clear retainers as an alternative to conventional silver braces. To learn more about Clear Correct, go to clearCorrect.com.
Dentistry for the Anxious Patient
We understand that many patients are anxious about their dental treatment. Our caring doctors and staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your treatment. The office is also equipped with nitrous oxide for the patient that requires more than local anesthetic to feel comfortable.
Dentistry for the Medically Compromised
Patients' overall health is important to us and we consider any pre-existing health conditions before starting dental treatment. If needed, we will work with your primary care physician to ensure your treatment is thorough. Many diseases, including diabetes and heart disease, are linked to the health of your mouth. Therefore it is very important to us that we mantain a healthy oral environment.
Dentistry for the Child/Infant
Our friendly doctors and staff enjoy treating children. The American Dental Association recommends you bring your infant to the dentist within 6 months of their first tooth eruption. The first couple of trips to the dentist an exam, teeth brushing, or a simple ride in the dental chair is all that may be performed. It is important that the child gets assimilated to coming to the dentist at an early age. The best care you can give your child dentally is leading by example; brushing twice a day for two minutes, flossing at least once a day, eating a healthy diet, and visiting the dentist on a regular basis.
Oral Surgery
Sometimes teeth are non-restorable or your mouth is lacking space for wisdom teeth and require extraction. We have the ability to perform many surgeries in office, including tooth extractions. We also work closely with specialists to ensure you get the best care.
Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment)
Teeth that have an infection within the soft tissue of the tooth (nerve, blood vessels, connective tissue) require root canal treatment. This procedure is done under local anesthetic and may be performed in one to three appointments. We also work closely with root canal specialists to ensure you get the best care.
Emergency Care
Accidents may happen and we would like to help you when they do. Please call our office as soon as an emergency arises so we may provide you with the necessary appointment to assist you in fixing the problem. |
